It's the "ultimate" local plate lunch place and certainly is one of the better ones! Huge portions at very affordable prices make this restaurant a local favorite. However, be forewarned, healthy food it isn't! Two scoops of rice, a scoop of pot-mac salad and your choice of various meat options make up a serving. Frequent visits to this restaurant most likely will guarantee you a heart attack! :)

Just a reminder, locals eat "plate lunches" for dinner too. The BIG serves huge hamburgers and desserts too.

We had dinner here again and loved it! I don't order the large plates, but my hubby did! I like the papaya chicken salad.

It's not one of those restaurants I frequently visit. (I am not much of a fan of the "local cuisine" they serve.) The restaurant recently was sold and I was curious to see what the new owners changed if anything. Those who like this restaurant will be happy to hear, nothing has changed. Same menu, same cooks and even the same waitresses serving the same food that they used to. The prices were raised somewhat but it's still a very good value for those who like the local kind of food.

I just noticed I have not been to this place for five years! I was craving a burger and since most everybody have been raving about the burger at the Big Island Grill, I decided to give it a try. Bad choice. The burger was overcooked flavorless, the fries was cold, and the bun was soggy. While it's served with three olives(?) and a pickle, if you want a slice of onion that would be extra.
