New to the forum. Home is Anchorage AK for my wife and I. Early 60's. Always have enjoyed the Big Island for over 20 years. Got a chance to come back again on New Years day for 2 weeks. Looking to see old friends. Also looking for reasonable place to stay. Non smokers, must have a decent pool and we want to pay NMT $120 a day. If you see soemthing please Let us know> Baxter and Yang Cha

Welcome to the forum!!! :) :) :)

Don't know of anything offhand during the holidaze at that price. But try the Royal Kona Resort. We used to get prices around that just last year.

Considering the 13% or so tax, the $120 is actually more like $106, and it's hard to find anything decent at that price, especially during the holidays. You might want to try the Kona Islander Inn, a condo complex of studio apartments, located in the center of the town. The units do not have real kitchens though, only kitchenettes with a hotplate a microwave.

Thanks for the tips, I'll check those out and maybe I need to get the big money out of my sock and spend some of that to get a place that is a bit better in line with what we would like to find.
