I bought six Henckels knives 20 years ago. Back in those days Henckels were not as widely available as nowadays, in fact only authorized dealers carried them, and they were the choice knives of professional chefs (along with Forschner knives.) They were not sold in sets as nowadays, and there were no such varieties as "Four Star," or "Professional, or "Premio," or "Signature," or " Classic," or "International," or who knows what else. It was just "Henckels" and it was way more expensive than now. I paid $600 for my six knives back then in 1992, but it was money very well spent. Doing a little math, it cost me about 8 cents a day for the six knives so far, and I don't think I will have to buy another knife in my life again. Ever. So next time when you go out to buy knives, buy Henckels. You will thank me for years and years to come!
