I have to be honest, Dave, and relate that I've tried Sharkys a few times, total about fifteen pounds of French Roast, and find the coffee has a burnt taste that I don't care for. What roast do you drink?

Hi Brian,

He does not have a French Roast but he does have a dark roast, medium roast and a house roast. I usually drink the dark roast as I favor the more burnt taste. Maybe you should try his medium or house roast? Are you sure you have been ordering from the same Sharkys? A lot of people get Sharkys confused with Sharks. Sharks coffee is Kona Coffee and not as good in my opinion.

Alright, alright, caught me on a technicality. I've gotten the dark roast and, yes, it's Sharky's. I can't say why it tastes burnt, but I can get Starbucks French Roast at Costco for $8\lb, and that's REALLY good coffee.

I say drink what you like! I have heard from others that the dark roast is either not to their liking or it is the best they have ever had. It is really a matter of taste. Let's face it, if we all liked the same thing there wouldn't be so many different brands and roasts for us to choose from. :)

My favorite coffee is the Cafe Vita in Tops Supermarket on 99 in Lynnwood, WA. After we moved from there, we resorted to roasting our own coffee to get coffee to our liking.

I live in Normandy Park now. I lived in Edmonds for 5 years and loved it. Wish I still lived there.

Just ordered my first bag of Sharkey's coffee as a Father's Day gift for my husband. He was wanting to buy some Kona Coffee before we left, but we were taken back by the prices in the stores. He was interested in Ferrari's (the stand in front of Huggo's on the Rocks), but by the time we got back to them, they were closed.

From the reviews on this board, I'm thinking that Sharky's is a better choice than Ferrari's.

Be glad you didn't, Sharky's is a much better coffee. You can get a decent priced ($15/lbs) Kona Coffee (Kona Marie's) at the farmers market on Alii Drive. However, Sharky's is still better.

Agreed, Tried a bunch of different Kona Brands and Kona Blends. Sharkys is still better. I want to try some from Ka'u now that won the competition. Next time were there......

The coffee arrived yesterday - that was fast!

Now I have to wait until Father's Day to try it - the suspense is killing me.

Gotta love the fact that I get to benefit from HIS Father's Day gift too :D

I am not a cheap person with my wife. But I am with myself. I eat the cereal that I get at Costco because it is cheaper than the grocery store. What I eat is not my fav but an okay substitute. And I always bought coffee from Costco because it was good quality and cheap. But I buy Sharkys for myself as one of the few luxuries I buy for myself. It is a low acid coffee with a great taste. Not everyone thinks it is the best they have had. I hope you two really enjoy it!
