I activated the system when I got back on-island October 11. Since then the panels have been working great, even with cloudy days, and we are actually generating more than we're using. Only loose end to be tied up is HELCO. The last bill I got was for the period August 17 to September 17. So the switch over to solar was in the middle of a billing cycle. They haven't figured out yet how to figure up my bill. I've called twice, and each time they tell me that still working out glitches in the billing system. Sheesh -- people have been using solar for years now and HELCO is still are trying to figure out how to create a bill (yeah, I know, IT'S HAWAII). Since I anticipate that my monthly bill will be $20, I'm not overly worried, but it still is an inconvenience.
